Screwballer

Screwballer is a section of this website that I started as a hobby to highlight everything Baseball. In my opinion, baseball is the greatest sport that has been created. Not only can you watch the games on television or listen to them on the radio, but if you are into numbers, you can also manipulate the statistics.

Baseball requires the players to be very coordinated and physically in top shape. Hitting a small round ball with a large stick can be a very precise task, that requires exact muscle memory and timing. I would love to be able to play major league baseball myself, but that wouldn't bring home the bacon, at the level of play that I am able to attain. In 1998 I could have played for a major league team for $150,000. Some people have asked me why I didn't go for it. Well, truth be known, I didn't have $150,000 to give them.

So I have settled for being a fan and enjoying the sport through the true professionals that play the game on a daily basis. I am really intrigued by the numbers in baseball. The statistics that are produced and kept on record paint a picture of the players of the past and give a means to judge current players by.
